Steve Snider started the business with his father and brothers when the business was called Snider’s and sons. They started as a small fruit stand along Route 30 in Chambersburg PA. and moved into a wholesale plant business. As time moved on his father passed, leaving the business to his two sons, Steve and Joseph. This was the birth of Windmill Farms. With 16 acres of outdoor plants and 10 100 ft. greenhouses, Steve and his brother created a business that took them to the DC, Philadelphia, and Virginia areas. They employed many of the local youth showing them the fruit of their summer labor. As the years passed Steve and Joe decided it was time to retire. Both brothers went their separate ways selling the business off and keeping just enough for each to continue there niche. Steve always loved growing vegetables and harvesting their food to give to family and friends. This prompted him to grow vegetable plants and sell whole sale to local business. Ten years later his daughter in-law Holly (Who was one of the youth that worked the greenhouses) fell in love with the business and now helps and supports Steve with the retail sales of his plants. Together they work to produce great quality plants for you to enjoy and harvest. We pray our selections this year will help you expand your gardening experience. God Bless!
